David “Matthew” Fairchild

David “Matthew” Fairchild, 35, of Chickamauga, Georgia, passed away on Saturday, April 13, 2024.

He was born on Sept. 2, 1988, in Chattanooga. He spent most of his life in the Chattanooga and North Georgia area. He worked as a mechanic and in construction. His passion was cars, especially Honda Civics. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Albert Fairchild; paternal grandparents, Betty and John Fairchild, Sr., maternal grandparents, David and Peggy Gipson.

Survivors include his mother, Deborah Fairchild, five children, Kamryn Franklin, Karlie Franklin, Tanner Fairchild, Kailyn Fairchild and Kynlie Fairchild; seven siblings, Shelia (Chuck) Gentry, Theresa Ramsey, Angela Arendale, Mitchell Ervin, Daniel Hardin, John Fairchild III, and Timothy Fairchild; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and other extended family members and friends.

The funeral service will be held at 7 p.m. on Friday, April 19, in the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory.

The family will receive friends on Friday, April 19, from 12–7 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the funeral service.

All arrangements are by Lane Funeral Home and Crematory Rossville.
