Madeline Hale
Madeline Hale, 77, passed away Saturday, April 20, 2024, in Chattanooga.

She was born May 30, 1946, in Chattanooga to Mr. Henry Robinson and Mrs. Ella Mae Robinson. She was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of 1964.

Madeline served faithfully as a member of New Enon Missionary Baptist Church until her health began to decline.

She retired from the Sears Retail store after many years of service.

Madeline, affectionately known as our "Cookie", was the sunshine in our family. She loved all of us and would do anything to assist or direct our lives. Especially as she had lost four of her sisters, she started claiming all her nieces and nephews as her own. She became very protective of all of us. Madeline shared so much love and still had plenty of love left for her daughters and grandchildren.

One of her more memorable moments was time spent with her grandchildren, especially Miss Bailee. Bailee loved her equally. Bailee would have lived forever with her granny, if possible.
Additionally, to her love of family, she loved cooking and was a great cook. She had special directions for how she wanted her food prepared which usually required no one helping, because no one was able to fix food her way. Madeline's love also included her siblings. She had two remaining, her brother, Billy and youngest sister, Linda. They would call each other daily and make sure that all was well with them.

The most important thing to remember about our dear "Cookie" was her firm and “to the point” directions of life. She did not hesitate to tell you the truth about life and circumstances, whether you wanted to hear the truth or not. Madeline did not bite her tongue and we all learned to respect her because that was the Robinson sisters way. To say she will be missed is an understatement. Today our hearts are broken into millions of pieces. However, Madeline lived a life of love, and we will continue to share the unconditional love with each other that she held for us. Forever, she will live in our hearts and soul.

Madeline was preceded in death by both her parents.

She leaves to cherish precious memories, two daughters, Kimberly Andrews, and Kelly Hale; daughter/niece, Felecia Mason; granddaughter, Mercedes Megan Evans; two grandsons, Bryan Smith and Bryce Jackson; two great-granddaughters, Amira Smith and Bailee Evans; a great-grandson, Omarion Smith; son, Walter (Monique) Williams; brother, Henry Robinson; sister, Linda (Bill) Petty; a host of other family members and friends.

Public viewing will be held from 9 a.m.-noon, at the funeral home, followed by a 12:30 p.m. graveside service at Forest Hills Cemetery on Tuesday, April 30.
Arrangements are by John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., Chattanooga, 423 622-9995.
