McCallie Dominates Best Of Preps Meet Held At Soddy Daisy

Under the guidance of Coach Rodney Stoker, the McCallie Track Team showcased their exceptional talent at the Chattanooga Best of Preps Meet held at Soddy Daisy and sponsored by the Front Runner.

McCallie's Evan Simpson, Henry Edwards, Harry Carter and Jack Bowen formed the 4 x 800 Relay Team, setting a state leading time of 7:47.63. This same group secured victory at the Nike Indoor National Title in New York City earlier this year.

McCallie's Enrique Jamies Leclare, Caughran Fowler, Andrew Smith and Kavan Reynolds combined forces in the 4 x 200 relay, clocking in at 1:25.92 - another state-leading time.

After a setback at the McCallie Mid-South Meet in the 4 x 100 Sprint Relay, the quartet of Parker Robison, Caughran Fowler, Andrew Smith and Enrique Jamies Leclare bounced back with a new McCallie record of 41.88 seconds.

The McCallie 4 x 400 group - comprising Caughran Fowler, Andrew Smith, and twins Kendrick and Kavan Reynolds -averaged under 49.5 seconds per lap, crossing the finish line at 3:17.53.

McCallie's Enrique Jamies LeClair finished first in the Boys 100 Meter Dash Finals, and Kavan Reynolds of McCallie captured the Boys 400 Meter Dash Finals.

McCallie's Kendrick Reynolds won the Boys 300 Meter Hurdles Finals with a time of 38.04. Second place was Silverdale's Liam Runkle at 38.28.

McCallie's Carson Lawrence and Kendrick Reynolds dominated the triple jump with Matthew Murphy of Hixson third.

McCallie had top finishers in the pole vault - Crew Megahee and Teddy Wingfield. Also finishing high was Logan Smith of Skyuka Hall.

Coach Mike Wood said, "In my 44 years of coaching in Chattanooga, I’ve never seen any school run relays this fast.”

The McCallie Track Team next has a home meet against Baylor on Tuesday. 

In the Boys 100 Meter Dash Finals, Tyner's Tamaree Jenkins finished ahead of Jaden Moore and Sebastian Jones of Boyd-Buchanan.

Jackson Meredith of Chattanooga Christian finished first in the Boys 800 Meter Run Finals.

Signal Mountain's Joshua Pate edged McCallie's Ian Jacobs to win the Boys 1600 Meter Run Finals. Pate finished at 4:21.06 and Jacobs at 4:22.36.

Zachary Youngblood of Chattanooga Christian won the Boys 3200 Meter Run Finals.

Sawyer Boyd of Cleveland High won in the Boys 110 Meter Hurdles Finals with a time of 14.42.

McCallie was followed in the Boys 4x100 Meter Relay Finals by Boyd-Buchanan, Cleveland and Tyner.

In the Boys 4x200 Meter Relay Finals, finishing behind McCallie were Cleveland, Tyner, Baylor.

Matthew Murphy of Hixson won the high jump with a six-foot leap.

Nate Lovelace of Cleveland exceeded 22 feet in the long jump.

Mason Bates of Boyd-Buchanan won the discus. Carson Gentle of McCallie captured the shot put title.
