Executive Women International (EWI), a Chattanooga organization for networking and leadership development, recently installed their new president for 2007-2008.
Outgoing President Nancy Harrison with Law Offices of Lloyd Stanley, hands off the responsibility of her position to incoming President Tanya English with Miller & Martin PLLC.
Ms. Harrison has mentored English for a year to take the helm of the Chattanooga Chapter. She will serve as director-at-large and Corporate Membership Advisor to the Knoxville Chapter during the 2007-2008 term.
She said, “I am very proud of all our chapter accomplished this year. Tanya is a wonderful leader; with her guidance of the Chattanooga chapter it will continue to grow and provide educational services for members and non-members alike.”
EWI also installed the board for 2007-2008. The incoming board plans to continue the progress of the former board bringing together key individuals from diverse businesses for the purpose of:
* Promoting member firms
* Enhancing personal and professional development
* Encouraging community involvement
EWI is a nonprofit organization of leading business, service and professional companies. The Chattanooga Chapter announced having 56 member firms and 60 representatives. The chapter was chartered May 13, 1987.
EWI was originally established in 1938 as an association of key women working to promote their firms and improve their communities. Over 3,000 companies and 3,500 representatives are members of EWI today in 75 chapters located in major cities in the United States, Canada and Europe.
Officials stated that EWI is unique in that the firm is the member, as opposed to the individual. Professional development, much of it at no cost, is available to all employees of member firms. Membership is by invitation only.
