Nominations Being Accepted For Walker Citizen Of The Year Award

Nominations are being accepted for the Walker County Citizen of the Year Award, sponsored by the Walker County Chamber of Commerce.
 
The award is presented to a citizen of Walker County who has performed meritorious service above and beyond what would be expected of a citizen throughout the past five years.  All nominees must reside in Walker County and only extraordinary service to the community within the past five years will be taken into consideration.
 
The Citizen of the Year Award will be presented at the 2013 Walker County Gala to be held on Saturday, September 28 at The Read House Hotel.

Georgia’s Unemployment Rate Drops Significantly To 7.2 Percent In November

The Georgia Department of Labor announced Thursday that Georgia’s seasonally adjusted unemployment rate for November was 7.2 percent. This is a significant drop from the previously released preliminary rate of 7.7 percent in October, which has been revised to 7.6 percent.
