Hammond Set To Have Competition From At Least 2 Contenders - Chris Harvey, Tim Carroll - In Sheriff Race

Sheriff Jim Hammond is set to run for re-election, and he will be facing several contenders.

Sheriff Hammond, who won a special election in 2008 following the arrest of Sheriff Billy Long, has picked up papers to begin collecting money for the campaign.

His treasurer is Henry Hoss.

Also naming a campaign treasurer is Tim Carroll, former city of Chattanooga detective chief.

Mr. Carroll, who now works in the district attorney's office, retired from the city in 2012 after 30 years.

His campaign treasurer is Sherri Anderson.

Chris Harvey, who has served as a detective and sergeant in the Sheriff's Office, announced as a candidate earlier.

His campaign treasurer is David B. Dagley.
