Georgia Commissioner Of Labor Mark Butler Speaks At Walker County Chamber Oct. 22

Georgia Commissioner of Labor Mark Butler will be the keynote speaker at the Walker County Chamber of Commerce monthly membership luncheon on Wednesday, Oct. 22, at the Walker County Civic Center.  The regular luncheon meeting has been changed from Oct. 28 to the new date of Wednesday, Oct. 22. 

Commissioner Butler, a Georgia native, became Georgia’s ninth Commissioner of Labor on January 10, 2011.  He has served in the Georgia General Assembly; during that time he served as the chairman of the House Appropriations Human Resources Sub-Committee, which oversees all operations of the budget for several of the largest state agencies, including the Departments of Labor, Human Services, and Behavioral Health. Commissioner Butler has been committed to reshaping the way the state views the operations of a labor department and its relationship to economic development and the private sector.  During his presentation he will provide updates and introduce new and exciting initiatives concerning the Department’s work with education, business, and more.   

During the event Costco, Top of Georgia/ DOL, and Family Crisis Center will profile their business with spotlight tables and door prizes. 

The cost to attend is $15 for Chamber Members and $25 for non-members. Registration will begin at 11:30 a.m. with the program beginning at 11:50 a.m.  RSVPs are required by emailing info@walkercochamber.com or calling 706.375-7702.  The deadline to register is Tuesday, Oct. 21, at 11 a.m.
