John Turner Thanks Collegedale For The Journey

  • Tuesday, November 11, 2014

The election is now one week behind us and for me at least, it did not turn out as hoped for.  However, I will always be grateful to the citizens for allowing me to serve you for the last 11 years, nine as mayor.  Thank you so much for that privilege.

We have accomplished much, but there is still work to be done.  The fundamentals have been placed. Talented people have voluntarily agreed to serve on key committees and well educated  and capable people hold key manager positions within the city.

We must and we will, continue striving towards the vision we established.

I leave the commission with the city financially and physically in its best shape ever.  Of that I am very proud.  I will miss Ted, Katie, Debbie and Tim, as we achieved a tremendous amount during the last eight years we served together.  We are fortunate to have them leading our city.  I am confident they will continue the progress we made and the vision we set.  We must continue to accept the  responsibility of doing our share for our city, for this will continue to make us a great city to call home.

Although I will not be present at the commission meetings for now,  I will still be here with an open door policy, as I always have. Willing and ready to help out any way I can.  Thank you again for a journey I will always treasure.
