Dewey Hammond Joins Zipflip

  • Monday, November 24, 2014

Dewey Hammond, a founding partner and former member of FourBridges, a Chattanooga-based investment banking firm, has joined Zipflip, the new web-based, peer-to-peer used car marketplace.

Mr. Hammond, vice president of Business Development, will focus on developing strategic partnerships and raising capital for the start up, which is focused on removing the frustrations that often accompany the private sale of a vehicle between individuals.

"Dewey brings an additional level of sophistication to our efforts at Zipflip.

His extensive M&A knowledge along with his experience in structuring partnerships are already enhancing Zipflip's ability to accomplish many of our early business goals," said local automotive executive and Zipflip CEO, Tim Kelly.

“I joined Zipflip because I believe their unique business model alleviates severe pain in a very large market. I also had confidence in the team they had already assembled," said Mr. Hammond. "The private used car market is one of the fastest growing segments in the automotive space, and Zipflip offers a real alternative to the traditional dealer-based experience."

Mr. Hammond brings 18 years of investment banking experience to Zipflip. He has a BBA from the University of Georgia, a JD from the University of Virginia, and an MBA from the University of North Carolina.
