Local Performers And Artists Unite For Chattanooga Room In The Inn

  • Thursday, December 11, 2014

A group of locally based musicians and performers will come together to raise awareness and funds for Chattanooga Room in the Inn, a residential program for homeless women and children, on Sunday, Dec. 21.

The event performance, called GiveBack Concert, is the brainchild of Jazzanooga Founder and Director Shane Morrow. “Every year I try to give back in some way to a local organization that has proven to be a valuable asset to our community,” states Mr. Morrow. “Calling out to a few of my friends within Chattanooga’s talented roster of performers  and presenting an evening of music, arts and goodwill for such a good cause just seems to be the right fit for sharing our God given talents.”

Those scheduled to perform include Voices of THECREATIVEUNDERGROUND, Azusa “She She” Dance, Christian J. Collier, Antonio D. McMath and the Z Alpha Dance Squad, Buddy Shirk, Monica A. Ellison, Christie Burns, Micah Spence, Jonathan Susman, Nikki Ellis and Shane Morrow.

“We are so grateful to Jazzanooga for choosing Chattanooga Room in the Inn as the beneficiary of their GiveBack Concert this year," said Erin Creal, executive director of CRITI.  "We depend on the generosity of the community to continue to teach homeless women and children how to be self-sufficient and not become homeless again."

The concert will be held at the Robert Kirk Walker Theatre, located within the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium, at 399 McCallie Ave. on Sunday, Dec. 21.  The performance begins at 5 p.m.

Tickets are $10 and are currently available online at www.chattanoogaonstage.com or go to the Box Office at Memorial Auditorium.

Those unable to attend can still donate by reaching out directly to Chattanooga Room in the Inn for donation giving at www.chattanoogaroomintheinn.com
