Jewell Janett Evans, 84, of Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, died on Wednesday, December 3, 2014.

She was born in Section, Al., to the late Hobart and Hester Jones. Janett retired from Simco Saddle Company after 30 years of service there and attended Shiloh Baptist Church in Rossville.

She was also preceded in death by her husband, C.W. Evans, her brother, Herschel Jones, and her sister, Edith Moore.

Survivors include her sisters, Hilda Murdock, Brenda Dean, sons, Wayne (Joyce) Evans, Jim (Vicki) Evans, Alan (Kim) Evans, daughter, Patricia Evans Ramsey, eight grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a beloved cousin, Annie Ruth Thorne.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5, in the funeral home chapel.

Viewing will be from 5-9 p.m. on Thursday and from 12 p.m. until service time Friday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans at DAV.org or to Wounded Warrior Project at woundedwarriorproject.org.

Arrangements are by W.L. Wilson & sons Funeral Home-Fort Oglethorpe.
