Evelyn Davis Lancaster, 85, of Red Bank, died on Wednesday, July 9, 2014, in a local health care facility.

She was of the Baptist faith.

Born on Jan. 11, 1929, in Chattanooga, Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Fadie Mae McNabb Davis of Suck Creek; husband,William “Red” Lancaster; son, Larry Lancaster; brother, Bill Davis; and sister, Wilma Whitaker McWhorter, of Chattanooga.

She is survived by daughter, Karen Nazor (Hank) Hill of Walden, Tn.; grandchildren: Kacee Nazor of Walden, Dr. Karah Nazor and Kevin Nazor of Chattanooga and Kit (Bonnie) Nazor of San Diego; great-grandchildren:  Tilleigh and Evie Nazor-Comer and William Nazor of Walden; and sister, Martitia Davis (Steve) Lands of Chattanooga; and many extended family members.

Evelyn worked for many years as a retouch artist for local photography studios including Olan Mills and Stanrich.

The family would like to thank Erlanger Health System, Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation and St. Barnabas Nursing Home for their excellent and compassionate care of Evelyn during her brief illness.

Visitation is from 2-5 p.m. on Sunday, July 13, at Lane Funeral Home at 601 Ashland Terrace.

Funeral services will be held there at 11 a.m. on Monday, July 14, with the Reverend Don Harris officiating. Interment will follow in Chattanooga National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin Nazor, Kit Nazor, Matt Hill, Trevor Hill, Harvey Whitaker, Charles Sisk and Marsh Eberle.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Chattanooga Community Kitchen, 727 East 11th St., 423 756-4222.
