Ooltewah Swimmers Get Late Win Over Dalton

Ringgold Finishes 6-2 With Win Over Waterdogs

Thursday, July 10, 2014 - by John Hunt

The Ooltewah Tidal Waves evened their record at 4-4 on Wednesday without having to get in the water.

The Dalton Dolphins made the decision to not come back on Thursday to finish the meet since the City Meet is beginning early Friday at Warner Park.

Ooltewah had been leading 173-166 when the meet was suspended on June 5 and that will stand as the final score.

Dalton still wins the Chattanooga Area Swim League's Blue Division with a 7-1 record while Signal Mountain finishes second at 6-2.  Ooltewah is third at 4-4.

The Ringgold Tiger Sharks improved to 6-2 with a 444-305 win over the Waterdogs on Wednesday in a meet suspended earlier by storms.

Regan Wingrove, Sara Beth Moore, Kale Davis, Evan Wingrove, Jon Lancaster, Easton Odonnell and Gabriel Johnson all had 19 points for Ringgold while Juliet Bryant and Davina Sharma both had 19 for the Waterdogs.

Signal Mountain is the defending champion for the Bill Caulkins City Meet, which begins Friday at Warner Park.

The Green Giants have high hopes of repeating, but will have strong challenges from Dalton, in addition to Stuart Heights, Ooltewah and Red Division winner Fairyland.

There will be three sessions this weekend on both days with the new champion being crowned around sundown Saturday night.
