Man Hit Trying To Cross Rossville Boulevard Late Saturday Night

A man was hit trying to cross Rossville Boulevard late Saturday night.

At approximately 11:47 p.m., the Chattanooga Police Department Traffic Division was dispatched to 4608 Rossville Blvd. on a pedestrian struck.

James Belcher, 53, was trying to cross the street at the intersection of Rossville Boulevard and 47th Street. He was trying to cross five lanes of traffic.

Police said he did not see a gray Mazda that was traveling northbound on Rossville Boulevard.

Mr. Belcher suffered serious injuries to his right leg and his head after being stuck by the vehicle.

He was transported to an local hospital by medic 13 and is being treated for non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the vehicle that struck him was Deidre Ables, 50.

This traffic investigation is ongoing.
