Mayor Berke To Participate In ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday; City Council To Participate On Tuesday

After receiving multiple challenges, including from WGOW’s Brian Joyce and Assistant Police Chief Danna Vaughn, Mayor Andy Berke will accept the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge Monday at 5:30 p.m. on the steps of City Hall.

Mayor Berke will accept the challenge publicly and wants to raise more money for ALS research. People can come by City Hall Thursday, Friday or Monday and make a donation of at least $5 (cash or check. One person will be chosen at random to do the honors of dumping a bucket of ice on Mayor Berke.

All donations will go straight to ALS.org.

On Tuesday, at 1 p.m., members of the City Council of Chattanooga will participate in the challenge. The location of the event will be in a parking area adjoining the Council building at 1000 Lindsay Street, and the public is encouraged to attend.
