This year, the Rock Island Baptist Church will celebrate their 150th Church Anniversary. As part of this Jubilee Celebration, there will be a weekend full of activities planned Friday, Sept. 26, through Sunday, Sept. 28. The public is invited to come and celebrate.
Rock Island was organized in 1864 which was at the time of the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation and has been in the East Chattanooga community for 150 years.

Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.

Entertainment by Comedian Brandalyn Shropshire
Music by The Nikki Ellis Jazz Band

Members of the congregation and community will walk from the original location of Rock Island Baptist Church (Farleigh Street) to its current location on Camden Street.
Sunday School at 9:30 a.m.
Praise and Worship Services at 10:45 a.m.
They are also putting together a souvenir book to commemorate the 150th church anniversary. Ads are available for $10 on patron level, $25 for a quarter page, $50 for a half page and $100 for a full page. As a thank you, those who purchase a full page ad will get two passes to the Jubilee Jazz Banquet on Friday, Sept. 26, at 7 p.m.
