Jerry Dean Coppinger, 63 of Chattanooga, died on Monday, January 5, 2015. 

He was a member of the Church of Christ and belonged to the Botherhood of Locomotive Engineers for over 40 years. 

Mr. Coppinger was preceded in death by his parents, David Coppinger and Tula Mae Coppinger; brothers, Michael Coppinger, Larry Pickett.

He is survived by two children, Jerri Michelle Coppinger, David “Bopper” Coppinger, of Chattanooga; sister, Fay Griffith; brother, Waymon Coppinger, both of Whitwell; and several nieces and nephews.

His family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. CST on Thursday, Jan. 8.

A memorial service will be at 6 p.m. CST on Thursday, in the funeral home chapel with Minister Steve Lusk officiating.

In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Dominican Republic mission work at Red Bank Church of Christ, 3600 Dayton Blvd., Chattanooga, Tn. 37415.
