William “Billy” Richard Craig, 64, died on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at his residence. 

He was born into time on Oct. 10, 1950, in Chattanooga, to William R. Craig Jr. and Wauleatha Craig Cox.

He was educated in the Chattanooga Public School System. Billy was of the Baptist faith and attended Redemption Point. He worked at Mountain City Club in his earlier years.

Billy is survived by his devoted partner of 19 years, Patricia Rucker; three brothers, Andre Craig, Edward (Earnestine) Cox, Athens, AL and Wilson (Dorothy) Cox, Jr., Huntsville; three sisters, Vera (James) Shepherd, Sheila (Michael) Reid, Kimberly (Kenneth) Hunter; sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Craig; step-children, Janie McClain, Curtis McClain, Sherry McClain; thirteen grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 13, in the Chapel. Interment will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.

The body will lie in state after noon on Monday, Oct. 12, and the family will receive friends this evening from 6–7 p.m. at John P. Franklin Funeral Home, 1101 Dodds Ave., 622-9995.
