Chattanooga Softball Finishes Fall Season With Blue & Gold Game

  • Friday, October 9, 2015
The Chattanooga Mocs softball team wrapped up fall play with the Blue & Gold game Friday in Frost Stadium. The gold team won 7-1 in six innings.

"It was a good end to the fall," head coach Frank Reed stated. "We know what we need to work on."

Due to lightning in the area, the scrimmage was cut short.

The blue team was represented by freshmen Alyssa Coppinger and Emma Sturdivant, sophomores Cori Jennings, Kailey Palazzolo, Ashley Conner and J.J. Hamill, junior Katy Richardson, seniors Criket Blanco and Amanda Ross and alumna Marina Wilkerson.

The gold team consisted of freshmen Halie Williamson, Katie Courm and Jordan Fortel, juniors Jesslyn Stockard and Katie Henderson, seniors Anyssa Robles, Alyssa Taylor and Sam Taylor and alumnae Jenny Garcia and Shelby Carter.

Jennings pitched for both teams at the end of the game.

UTC moves the focus to individual evaluation for the rest of the fall semester.

"Hopefully we'll have some good down time for individual work and be able to get stronger going into January."

The 2015 UTC softball team was presented its Southern Conference Championship rings courtesy of Barbara and Joe Waters after the scrimmage.
The Mocs are set to be recognized with their rings during the second quarter of Chattanooga's football game on Saturday.
