Environmental Solutions Group Gains TVA Rebates Through Energy Efficiency Program

  • Wednesday, November 18, 2015

After wrapping up an eight-month project to make their Heil Environmental facility in Fort Payne, Ala., more energy efficient, the Environmental Solutions Group (ESG) has earned more than $435,000 in rebates from TVA’s EnergyRight Solutions program.

Officials said the goals of ESG’s project included reducing energy use by installing motor controllers on the plants exhaust fans and a LED re-lighting program which reduced lighting energy cost by 50 percent to 75 percent depending on the application(s) in each area of the plant.

ESG and Jake Marshall Services, Inc, an EnergyRight Solutions Preferred Partner, replaced thousands of fluorescent bulbs, fixtures and High Intensity Discharge lights with more efficient LED bulbs, panels and wireless controlled high bay fixtures throughout the large manufacturing facilities and installed variable frequencies drives on the main building’s exhaust fans.

Officials said, "These changes have lowered energy use by over 6.5 million kilowatts, reducing cost for energy consumption throughout the manufacturing site.  Additionally, the LED lights installed have extended life which has eliminated lighting maintenance costs for years to come.  The other advantages realized with LED technology is that high definition lighting gives enhanced visibility in the manufacturing facilities benefiting safety and quality for production, steady state continuous light in the offices and a major reduction in heat load from the lighting contributing to additional energy savings and Team Member comfort."

“The EnergyRight Solutions Incentive Program is a great encouragement for businesses to move forward with sustainability programs,” said ESG President Pat Carroll. “In ESG’s case it fits with our product innovation DNA, where we are continually looking at sustainability and value for our customers. In this case we were the benefiting customer.”

“We are excited to help ESG lower their energy costs, reduce their carbon footprint and better compete in the global marketplace,” said Cindy Herron, vice president of EnergyRight and Renewable Solutions. “EnergyRight Solutions is an important TVA program that allows businesses to save money and become better environmental stewards, while continuing to thrive and keep jobs in the Valley.”

TVA’s EnergyRight programs “let your company make smart energy choices while enhancing your bottom line. Whether you want to make your business more energy-efficient, save money or demonstrate your commitment to the environment by conserving natural resources, we make it easy with expert guidance, incentives for installation of efficient equipment and more.” For more on EnergyRight Solutions for home or business, go to www.energyright.com.
