Jerry Varady
Jerry “J.R.” Varady, 77, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, died on February 21, 2015.
Jerry was a journeyman carpenter with a degree in carpentry from Palomar College in San Diego, Ca. He was a builder and construction superintendent of many homes, restaurants and apartments in the Chattanooga area. He built in 36 states over a 45-year career. Jerry was a member of the Oak Street Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Faye Varady; his children, Terry (Curtis) Harvey, Mark (Jan) Varady, Janet Hall, Shaun (Mary) Varady; grandchildren, Michael Hall, Steven Hall, Lacy Standifer, LaBrinna Varady, Tara Harvey and a great-grandchild, Luke Standifer.
Services will be at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Williamson & Sons Funeral Home with Reverend Joe Caldwell and Reverend Tommy Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton County Memorial Park.
Visitation is from 4-9 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
The family wants to thank their church family at Oak Street Baptist Church for their loving support during his time of need and they also want to thank Hospice of Chattanooga for their kindness during this time.
