Mocs Swing Well In 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate

  • Saturday, March 14, 2015

It was a solid day for the Chattanooga Mocs women’s golf team. The team’s 294 (+10) is the third-best round of the season on a scoring day at the 3M Jaguar Intercollegiate. Agathe Sauzon and Megan Woods each carded 1-over 72’s, one ahead of Emily McLennan at +1.

“It was definitely out there today,” coach Colette Murray. “It was a solid round, but we were one low score away from a really good round. That was the difference today.

“Megan really bounced back well,” she continued. “She made some birdies, holed some putts and had a great attitude out there. That was really good to see."

McLennan’s 146 (+2) is in 10th-place. Sauzon is a shot back tied for 11th at 5 over. Woods shot up into a tie for 39th at 154. She’s tied with Sarah Dolmovich who had today’s drop score of 78. Cris Perez rounded out the team score with a 77. She’s tied for 44th at 155.

Forest Hills Golf Club gave up 10 birdies to the Mocs today after just four in round one. It was open to scoring across the board as the average score dropped 14 shots. The first round stroke average was 308.1, while round two descended to 294.1 among the 13 competitors.

Coastal Carolina leads after a 3-under 281 today. Individual leader Malene Krolboll Hansen led the Chanticleers with a 65 (-6). CCU is three clear of No. 21 Furman (582) in second and five ahead of Kennesaw State (584) in third.

Sunday’s final 18 is a 9 a.m., shotgun start. The Mocs tee off holes 5-8 paired with Troy and host GRU Augusta.
