McCallie Wins On Game-Winning Grand Slam

Corbin Brooksbank's game-winning grand slam home run in the bottom of the seventh inning Friday night lifted McCallie to a 10-7 win against visiting and previously unbeaten Pope John Paul, 10-7, and also gave Brooksbank the win in relief.

Brooksbank, who hit a one-out, 0-2 pitch for the grand slam, went 4-for-4 on the night with four RBIs and scored twice, while teammate Quinn Smith was 2-for-4. Brooksbank pitched the top of the seventh inning in relief and is now 1-0. on the season.

McCallie (6-4, 2-2) trailed 7-5 heading into the home half of the seventh and Brooksbank provided the winning blow.

JP2 (8-1, 0-1) was led by Logan Taylor with two hits and three RBIs, while teammate Jacob Jarreau was 2-for-3 and an RBI.

 

Saturday Doubleheader: The Two teams play a doubleheader with the first game starting at noon.
