Thomas Harold Gordon, 86, of Summerville, GA, passed away Friday morning, March 27, 2015 at his residence following an illness.
A native of hte Gore Community, he was born to the late Homer C. and Mary Doster Gordon on December 25, 1928. Mr. Gordon spent the greater part of his life in Gore, and was a Veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. He retired from General Electric, Rome and was a member and Deacon of Pleasant Grove Baptist Church.
Mr. Gordon was preceded in death by a son, Bary Gordon; and brothers, George Ed Gordon, Don Gordon and Sidney Gordon.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Frankie Dawson Gordon; daughter and spouse, Mary & Robert Taylor; sons and spouses, Gary & Tina Gordon and Mark & Connie Gordon; sister, Martha Sue Speer; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral serevices will be held Monday, March 30 at 1 p.m. from the J. D. Hill Memorial Chapel of Earle Rainwater Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Bryant, Rev. James Baird, and Rev. Mark Cosby officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot of the Pleasant Grove Cemetery. Active Pallbearers will be Ceciley Craig, Todd Taylot, Brandon Gordon, Will Gordon, Seth Gordon, Cody Fulmer, Austin McGraw, Dustin Craig, and Rodney Loveless; Honorary Pallbearers Jim Hunter, Gordon McCollum, Frank Ward, Doster Toles, Randy Toles, George Doster, Jr. and friends of Dirt Town Deli at The Round Table.
The Family will receive friends Sunday, March 29 from 6-8 p.m. at the Earle Rainwater Funeral Home, who is in charge of arrangements.
