April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month. Behavioral Research Institute hopes to raise awareness of this critical issue by providing its eighth annual CAP’s Off Child Abuse event on Saturday, April 25. This will be held in conjunction with Healthy Kids Day, sponsored by the YMCA.
Behavioral Research Institute will provide face painting, crafts, educational games related to anger and stranger danger, and also game prizes for all children. Families who register at the BRI booth will have the opportunity to win door prizes from 9 a.m.-1 p.m. Child abuse prevention material and services will be available for adults and children.
During this same time, the YMCA will be conducting its Healthy Kids Day. Events to promote physical health in families will be held in and around the YMCA. Behavioral Research Institute will host its event in the gym inside the YMCA and a maze outside as well as music in the media/rec room. The event will be held rain or shine.
Behavioral Research Institute is dedicated to providing services to children and families for the purpose of preventing child abuse and family violence. Parenting classes are open to citizens of Bradley, McMinn, Polk, Meigs, Hamilton and Rhea Counties free of charge.
