Cleveland Schools Eye $1.2 Million In Facility Needs

Cleveland City School officials are projecting $1.2 million in facility needs.

The site committee of the school board will meet on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. at the Administrative Office Building to go over the needs.

Here is the list:

Forecast of Facility Needs and Expenses for Five Years. July 1, 2015

In this document facility needs are defined as the necessary repairs, improvements, and replacements to the facilities and transportation services over $5,000.  Items such as painting, furniture, technology, cosmetic concerns, and unforeseen repairs are not included in this estimate.

 

Arnold Memorial Elementary

Blythe Bower Elementary

Replacement of the boiler

Reason: age and obsolescence                                                                                  $ 20,000

 

Cleveland High School

Replacement of the roof on the East Wing

Reason: age and roof is already in constant need of repair.                          $200,000

Tear down and rebuild of the centrifugal chiller

Reason: mandatory maintenance for each decade of use.                            $ 40,000

Reason: units are 38 years old and obsolete, R-22 phase out.                      $280,000

Replacement of both boilers

Replacement of both boilers

Reason: age and obsolescence, original units.                                                     $ 70,000

 

Teen Learning Center

Replace three roof top HVAC units

Reason: age and obsolescence, R-22 phase out.                                                                $ 27,000

 

D. P. Yates Primary

Replacement of the classroom HVAC units

Reason: age and obsolescence                                                                                  $240,000

 

Transportation

Replace three school buses

Reason: state laws limiting the use of the school buses to 18 years.

After 2019 from one to three buses will have to be replaced every

year in the CCS fleet.                                                                                                      $300,000
