10th Annual “Press Out Domestic Violence” Fundraiser Set For Thursday

  • Wednesday, May 6, 2015

The tenth annual "Press Out Domestic Violence" fundraiser presented by the University of Tennessee College of Medicine - Chattanooga Transitional Year Residency Program and Erlanger Health System will be held on Thursday, from 4:30-6:30 p.m. at Erlanger Hospital Medical Mall, 979 E 3rd St.

Since 2006, the Transitional Year Residency program at UTCOM- Chattanooga has held an annual bench press competition among physicians, hospital employees, and hospital administrators. The goal is to raise funds to support the Partnership for Families, Children and Adults of Chattanooga, a local agency dedicated to assisting victims of domestic abuse through professional counseling, crisis intervention and education and prevention services.

Officials said, "The event has been very successful in the past years thanks to sponsors. Over the past nine years the event has raised over $14,000 to support domestic violence victims in the Chattanooga/Hamilton County and surrounding area."
