Northside Neighborhood House Announces Thrift Store Grand Opening

  • Wednesday, July 15, 2015

Northside Neighborhood House announced the grand opening of its Thrift Store at 3605 Dayton Blvd in the Plaza North building. The store was previously located on Signal Mountain Road but moved to the bigger, more updated space to offer shoppers an enhanced experience.

There will be a ribbon cutting by the Chattanooga Area Chamber of Commerce on July 20 at 9 a.m. During the grand opening, NNH will be serving popcorn, having drawings for door prizes from Red Bank businesses, and much more. There will also be special promotions throughout the entire grand opening week.

The new location has 6,500 square feet of retail space and features new specialty areas including: a Children’s Corner, a Do-it-Yourself section for shoppers who like a project, a Year-Round Holiday section featuring clothes  and decorative items for every season, a $1 clothing area, and a Sports and Fitness section.

“We are thrilled to be in this new and improved space,” said Rachel Gammon, Executive Director for the Northside Neighborhood House. “We want our loyal customers and new shoppers to feel welcome and know that our store is a place to find quality clothing, furniture and household items at an excellent price.”

In addition to the new location, the Northside Neighborhood House has another thrift store located at 209 Minor Street right next to its main agency building with plans to open a third location in the Hixson/Soddy Daisy community in the future.

“What many people don’t realize is that our Thrift Stores generate over half of the funding for our programs that provide a hand up to neighbors in need,” said Ms. Gammon. “So every time you shop in one of our stores or donate items you no longer use or want, you are helping neighbors in need.”

Store hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am to 6 pm and Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The store begins collecting donated items at 8:30 a.m. Monday through Friday and at 10 a.m. on Saturdays. Pickup of larger items including gently used furniture and appliances is available. Call 423-267-2217to schedule a pickup. All items are tax deductible.
