Thomas Lomenick
Thomas Fletcher Lomenick, 83, of Punta Gorda, Florida, died on Friday, July 24, 2015 in a local hospital.
He was a member of Episcopal Church of the Good Shepherd in Punta Gorda where he served as an usher. Thomas was a graduate of Central High School in Chattanooga and received his BS, MA and in 1968 his PhD from the University of Tennessee. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army and was a geologist for 35 years with Oak Ridge National Laboratories specializing in radioactive nuclear waste disposal. Thomas was also a developer of residential and rommercial properties in both Knoxville and Chattanooga.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Ann S. Lomenick in 1988 and his brother, Harold Stanley Lomenick.
Survivors include his wife, Muriel Reynolds Lomenick; four children, James R. (Annette) Lomenick, N. Suzanne Lomenick, Patricia J. Lomenick and Jefferson P. (Jill) Lomenick; four grandchildren Tuesday West, Rachel Zaramba, Davis Lomenick and Reece Lomenick; one sister, Jacqueline Lomenick Bookout; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 27, at the East Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, 404 South Moore Road with the Reverend Art Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3-6 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, at the funeral home. Entombment will be in Lomenick Masoleum.
