Liz Owensby Helms, 84, of LaFayette, Georgia, passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2016.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Helms; her parents, Elmer and Lillie Louise Owens Owensby; daughter, Patricia "Tric" James; sisters, Christine Owensby, Ella Howard and Lillie Simmons; and brothers, Neal Hill, Nathan Owensby and Dewey Owensby.
She is survived by her daughter, Sheila (Chris) Palmer of Trenton; sons, Steve Richardson of LaFayette, Thomas Glenn Kilgore of Cleveland and Al Nadeau of Rome; sisters, Roberta Greene of Rock Spring, Frances (Ralph) Southerland of Trion and Betty Joyce Cooper of Trion; 12 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral from the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel will be Sunday, Oct. 30 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dewey Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in LaFayette Memory Gardens. Pallbearers are Koltin Broome, C.J. Path, Gage Latta, Brian Greene, Boyd Greene and Lamar Harris. Honorary pallbearers are Terry Simmons and Norman Cooper.
Visitation at the funeral home will be Saturday, Oct. 29 from 6-9 p.m.
