The Chattanooga-area had eight players selected to the East squad, as well as two coaches and an honorary pick.

Notre Dame led with two selections, defensive back Calvin Sims and defensive end Patrick Johnson. Cleveland's Skylar Davis was a pick at wide receiver and McCallie quarterback Robert Riddle was another offensive selection, along with Rhea County tight end Jared Edwards.

Also on the defensive side, defensive back DaJon Baxter from Central, linebacker Alex Kirkendoll from Marion County and defensive back Cason Still from Bradley Central were named.

TaDarrell Hodge, a defensive end from Signal Mountain, was an honorary pick.

Carter Cardwell, head coach at Boyd-Buchanan, was named the Offensive Coordinator for the East team, while Notre Dame's Charles Fant was named as a coach.

“We are extremely excited about this year’s list of players,” said Bill Marbet, executive director of the Tennessee Athletic Coaches Association, the organization that stages the Toyota sponsored event.

“The high school talent in our state continues to get better and better and it shows on recruiting websites. We’re sending high school football players to major college programs all over the country and many of those highly sought after players will have one final opportunity to showcase their talents at the high school level in this game,” he added.

More than two-dozen of the players selected have already made their college commitment, including more than 20 to FBS schools.  Tony Lambert, head coach at Oneida, will serve as the head coach for the East team while Raleigh Egypt’s Major Wright will direct the West squad.

This year’s contest, sponsored by Pilot Flying J, will be streamed on ESPN3, giving the event a world-wide presence over the internet.
