5 Juveniles And One Adult Arrested For 45 Vandalism Cases

  • Friday, February 19, 2016

A collaborative effort between investigators from the Bradley County Sheriff's Office and the Cleveland Police Department have worked since Saturday on approximately 45 vandalism cases within the city and county. Law enforcement officers identified the suspects involved in the vandalism, which caused more than $30,000 in damages to vehicles, homes and mailboxes.

Investigators conducted interviews with the juvenile suspects who all confessed to their involvement in the crimes. Five juveniles and one adult will be charged with vandalism over $10,000.

All victims who reported damage are asked to submit repair receipts to the Criminal Investigations Division of the Cleveland Police Department. The amount of restitution is to be determined upon receipt from each of the victims.

Chief Mark Gibson said, "I am pleased with the quick action and outcome resulting from the mutual aid effort between the Bradley County Sheriff’s Office and the Cleveland Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Divisions.

"We are hoping for full restitution for the victims, as many have experienced the cumbersome task of securing their vehicles and homes upon discovery of the vandalism and the deficit of finances to repair the damages sustained by the six individuals.

"We appreciate the community coming together to safeguard their neighbors property while some of the victims were out of town when the crimes occurred. We are also grateful for the effort the investigators put forth to identify the suspects and charge them accordingly."
