For 30 years, Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area has worked with financial partners and thousands of volunteers to build 258 energy efficient homes providing over 1,500 women, men, and children with the joy and security of homeownership. To celebrate this grand achievement, Habitat for Humanity will host Raise the Roof on Friday, April 8 at 5:30 p.m. at The Chattanoogan Hotel. Raise the Roof will feature dinner, live entertainment, a silent auction, and a keynote speech from Habitat for Humanity International’s very first volunteer and longtime advocate, Clive Rainey.

Mr.
Rainey will travel to the Scenic City from Guatemala to share his passion of volunteerism and fervor for the mission of eliminating poverty housing through his work over the past 39 years at Habitat for Humanity International.
Whether serving as Habitat’s first Africa director, or speaking to audiences around the United States as he has done for the last several years, Mr. Rainey’s commitment to the work has remained as fresh as it was when he became the first person to join Habitat for Humanity International co-founders Millard and Linda Fuller.

“Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area’s 30th anniversary is a very special moment for us…. a time for celebration and extending our sincerest appreciation to partners and volunteers who have demonstrated their commitment to expanding homeownership to low-income, working families throughout Chattanooga,” said David Butler, executive director of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Chattanooga Area. “We are truly honored to have Clive Rainey as our keynote speaker. His passion for creating lasting change in the lives of children and families around the world is as inspiring today as it was 39 years ago when he joined Habitat for Humanity International.”

The evening will begin at 5:30 p.m. with a cocktail reception and silent auction. The dinner program will begin promptly at 7:30 p.m. followed by entertainment by The Power Players Show Band.

Tickets to Raise the Roof are $100 and tables (seating eight) are $600. To purchase tickets, tables and to learn more about corporate sponsorships, call 423 756-0507 or visit www.habichatt.org.
