There was a D.A.R.E. graduation at North Lee Elementary School.
During the ceremony, a special moment occurred when Allie Maples received the “Best Essay” award for her class.
Earlier this year, Allie experienced the tragic loss of her father. Emergency personnel responded to her residence due to a medical emergency that involved her father. Trooper Tudors with the Tennessee Highway Patrol was part of the emergency response, and provided comfort to Allie for the duration of that traumatic event. Still, after the passing of her father, Trooper Tudors keeps in contact with Allie and her mother, Desha Maples.
Ms. Maples said, regarding Trooper Tudors, “I feel he is an angel that was sent to help my daughter and I the day my husband passed away. He drove us to the hospital and stayed at our side the entire time.”
School Resource Officer Deputy Paul Allen arranged for Trooper Tudors to give the “Best Essay” medal to Allie Maples.
