Jeremy M. Cothern has joined Patrick, Beard, Schulman & Jacoway, P.C. as an associate attorney.

Mr. Cothern has been licensed to practice law in Tennessee since October, 2008. He graduated cum laude from the University of Tennessee College of Law in May, 2008 and cum laude from the University of the South (Sewanee) in May, 2005. Since moving to Chattanooga, Mr. Cothern graduated from the Tennessee Bar Association’s Leadership Law program in May, 2016 and from Leadership Chattanooga also in May, 2016. Prior to joining the firm, Mr. Cothern practiced at two other law firms, including an established Chattanooga litigation firm, and has wide-ranging and in-depth civil and criminal litigation experience.

He lives in North Chattanooga with his wife, Laura, and their two-year old son. Ms. Cothern is a nursing anesthesia student at The University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. They attend St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in downtown Chattanooga.

Mr. Cothern bolsters Patrick, Beard, Schulman & Jacoway, P.C.’s litigation practice and brings substantive experience in appellate, business, criminal, domestic, general civil, government, personal injury, trust and estate, and utility litigation. The firm now is comprised of 14 attorneys and will continue to offer a full range of legal services, including business formation, governance, and transactions, estate planning, probate, and civil and criminal litigation for businesses and individuals.
