Boyd Speedway Concert May 14th
Rising Country star Chris Janson, fresh off three ACM award nominations and a platinum selling hit with “Buy Me A Boat”, will appear at a concert at Boyd’s Speedway in East Ridge on May 14th. Fairview Union and Matt Stillwell will open the evening.
While Janson is quickly becoming a household name to Country music fans, other Country acts have known of him for several years, as he has written songs for Tim McGraw, Justin Moore, Hank Williams, Jr., Parmalee, Randy Houser, and Joe Nichols, just to name a few. He wrote and produced his big hit “Buy Me A Boat.”
Janson has appeared on many of the late night television shows, and was most recently a feature act on the American Country Countdown award show, where he performed solo. He is touring with Blake Shelton in 2016, following a busy 2015 schedule of touring with Toby Keith.
Matt Stillwell is no stranger to the Country charts, either. He has charted on Billboard more than once. The North Carolina native passed up a promising pro baseball career to pursue music.
East Tennessee’s Fairview Union, has been actively touring the Southeast United States, garnering fans at every stop. Chad and Kelli Wilson are an action packed, high-energy duo, with a good band. They have a great mix of covers and original songs.
Boyd’s Speedway is located at 1481 Scruggs Rd, just off Ringgold Road near East Ridge. You can enter off Ringgold Road or come from the other direction past the Brainerd Optimist Drag Strip near Costco. They have championship dirt track racing at Boyd’s on Friday nights, but this Saturday’s event is all about Country music. Beer, food, and soft drinks will be available at the concert. Patrons are encouraged to bring a canned food item for the Walmart Fight Hunger Campaign.
Gates will open at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 14th. Tickets are available at Thunder Creek Harley Davidson, on Ticketmaster, and at the gate. Admission is $22 and VIP passes are available for $50. As of this writing, the weather looks to be spectacular for the concert, with a high in the low 80’s for next Saturday and a nice cool evening.
