Jackson, Tenn. - Ian Miller continued to dominate at the dish and was the difference maker with a two-run double in the Jackson Generals 2-1 win over the Chattanooga Lookouts in front of 5,107 on Disney Night at The Ballpark at Jackson. Miller is hitting .355 (11-for-31) over his last 10 games with four RBI, five runs scored, a double, triple, and four walks.

For the second straight game, the Lookouts fell to Jackson by a single run.

For the second straight start, Felix Jorge (0-2) was the tough-luck losing pitcher. In this game, he gave up two runs on three hits over seven innings. He walked two and struck out three. 71 of his 98 pitches were strikes. Jake Reed struck out two in a perfect eighth inning.

And for the second straight night, Jackson (15-13, 61-37) scored its only runs against Chattanooga (16-13, 52-47) in the third inning. With one out, Steve Baron singled to right and moved to second when Brock Hebert drew a walk. With two on and one out, Miller doubled into the right field corner to score both Baron and Hebert and give the Generals an early 2-0 lead.

After the Generals scored in the bottom of the third the Lookouts responded in the top of the fourth for the second consecutive night. With one out, Mitch Garver got the rally started with a double to right. D.J. Hicks doubled Garver home moments later and the Lookuts pulled within one and made it 2-1. The Lookouts still threatened in that inning when it loaded the bases with two outs, but Ryan Yarbrough (9-4) got out of the jam by striking out Edgar Corcino looking to end the threat.

Hicks has tormented the Generals this season. The slugger is the only Lookout to have played in all 19 games between the two clubs this season. Hicks is hitting .282 (20-71) with 5 HR, 15 RBI, 12 R, 5 2B, 8 BB, and 16 K against Jackson this year. Chattanooga's first baseman is 4-for-14 with an RBI, R, 2 2B, 3 BB, and 5 K in this current series in West Tennessee.

Jackson didn't create too many other opportunities for themselves on offense after the third. Tyler O'Neill led off the fourth with a single, but was stranded. In the sixth, O'Neill drew a two-out walk, but was stranded once again.

Chattanooga had opportunities as well, but failed to take advantage.

After stranding the bases loaded in the fourth, the Lookouts put two on with two outs for the three-hitter Garver in the fifth, but Garver grounded out to end the inning.

Later in the seventh, Ryan Walker pinch-hit for Levi Michael and singled on the first pitch he saw. Walker stole second and advanced to third on a groundout that was the second out of the inning. Engelb Vielma then struck out swinging to end the threat.

Dan Altavilla came into the game to shut the door in the ninth, but got himself into a jam. With one out, Altavilla gave up back-to-back singles to Shannon Wilkerson and Corcino. Altavilla then got Walker to fly out to left before striking out Zach Granite to pick up his team-high 12th save and secure the Generals' 2-1 win.

Coming into this five-game series, Chattanooga had won 10 consecutive series dating back to when Jackson took four of five from them at The Ballpark at Jackson from May 19th to 23rd.

However, the Generals have now ended that streak due to winning three in a row and three of the first four games in this five-game series.

Overall, Jackson is 12-7 in 19 games against Chattanooga with six regular season games left between the clubs. The Generals need to win one of those final six games between the clubs to take the season series over the Lookouts. Jackson has already won their season series against the Tennessee Smokies, Montgomery Biscuits, and Mobile BayBears.
