Floyd Smith
Floyd Malcom Smith, 53, of Chattanooga, died on Tuesday, August 23, 2016 at his residence.
He was formerly employed by Southland Fabrics and was a member of New Life Seventh-day Adventist Church.
He was preceded in death by his stepfather, James Gordon, Jr.; grandparents, Garfield and Molly Yates; niece, Marie Ponder; a host of beloved uncles; aunts; and cousins.
Survivors include his mother, Shirley J. Gordon; brothers, Reese Smith, Jr. and Michael Smith; sisters, Ivy Powell, Cheryl Simpson, Lynn (Richard, III) Mears, Carla Gordon, and Lisa Gordon, all of Chattanooga; uncles, Thomas Yates (Ocie) of Memphis and Brennan Yates of Chattanooga; aunt, Evalyne (Artie) Davis of Lithonia, GA; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; close friends, Dallas Bunton, Pastor Rosena P. Billingsley, Sharon Coleman, Renee’ Williams, Steve Johnson and many other friends.
Visitation is Saturday, Aug. 27, from 6-8 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be on Sunday, Aug. 28, at 1 p.m. at New Life Seventh-day Adventist Church. Burial will be in Highland Memorial Gardens.
The church has an elevator and is handicap accessible.
