Avery Johnson Winner Over Vice Mayor George Poe In Cleveland City At-Large Race; Cassada, Hughes Win

In a battle of two incumbents on the Cleveland City Council, Avery Johnson outpolled Vice Mayor George Poe on Thursday.

It was Johnson 2,201, and Poe 1,282. Jonathan Porter had 835 votes.

Councilman Johnson, the current District 3 Councilman, had opted to run at-large.

Tom Cassada won the open District 3 seat in a tight race. He was just eight votes ahead of Michael Plumley. It was Cassada 437, Plumley 429, Pam Edgemon 286 and Larry Bryant 184.

District 4 Councilman David May was unopposed. He had 966 votes. 

Incumbent Dale Hughes held off Mary Baier by 685 to 449 in District 1.
