The Howard Hustlin Tigers won their third game of the year Friday night with a 14-7 win over visiting Chattanooga Christian.
Howard's Tawon Billups gave the Tigers a 6-0 lead with a touchdown late in the 1st quarter.
CCS would take the lead after Matthew Mercer found Ben Moore in the endzone from 12 yards out late in the second quarter. CCS led 7-6 at the half.
Howard took the lead back with 1:50 left in the third quarter when Billups scored from one yard out.
The two point conversion by Billups would give Howard a 14-7 lead. Neither team could put together another scoring drive.
Billups finished with 115 yards on 30 carries. Howard quarterback Vincent Bowling carried the ball nine times for 49 yards.
CCS was led by Justin Wheeler who had 12 carries for 32 yards.
Starting quarterback Matthew Mercer was 5 of 11 for 47 yards before leaving the game with an injury in the 4th quarter. Backup quarterback Matthew Neff, played several series including the final series for CCS. Neff completed 2 of 3 passes for 52 yards.
Howard will host Loudon next week before finishing out the season with region games at East Ridge and Signal Mountain.
CCS will host Copper Basin next week and finished the season with Red Bank, Grace and East Ridge.
