-Junior Andrew Weathers is tied for eighth through 36 holes of the Turning Stone Tiger Intercollegiate. Weathers shot back-to-back level-par 72s today on Turning Stone Resort’s Kaluhyat Course.
Weathers posted seven birdies and an eagle for the round. He’s one shot out of the three-way tie for fifth at -1.
Wes Gosselin is tied for 20th four strokes behind Weathers at +4. He opened with a 75 and closed Sunday with a 73. Lake Johnson shot 153 with cards of 73 and 80. Phillip Hickam is next at 157, while Brooks Thomas posted 160.
Etienne Brault, playing as an individual, turned in twin 75s and is tied for 26th at 150.
Texas A&M leads at -10 (566) powered by an opening-round 279 (-9). Host Missouri (573) is second followed by Toledo (579) and Cleveland State (585). Fort Wayne and Villanova are tied with the Mocs at 602.
Chattanooga started out with a 297. It was +15 with a handful of holes to play when Weathers and Hickam sparked a strong finish. Hickam played his final six holes at -3 with an eagle on the par 5 first and birdie on the sixth, his final hole in the shotgun start.
Weathers got off to a double bogey-bogey start to stand at +3 through two holes. Birdies at nine and 13 got him back to +1 before another double dropped him to +3. He proceeded to birdie three of the last four for his first 72.
