It’s no secret that Chattanooga State Tiger Baseball Coach Greg Dennis runs a tight ship, and that his players are expected to excel both on and off the field. Included in the team GPA of 3.36, Dennis also had four players who boasted a perfect 4.0, fourteen achieve a 3.5 or higher, and 18 who achieved a 3.0 overall. “I am especially proud of the guys that are in our outstanding Global Scholars Program, as they achieved a combined 3.75 GPA,” boasted Dennis.

Hugo Casilla, a sophomore pitcher from Miami, Fla. is a Global Scholars student who earned a 4.0 this semester. “Obviously, I am very excited to hear about how well we did as a team this semester in the classroom. My teammates show great pride in representing this program and this college both on and off of the field and hopefully, this is another indication of our commitment,” shares Casilla. “Our coaches push us to be better in the classroom, on the field as well as our personal lives and I know our guys take this challenge very seriously. We have a strong desire to show success in everything we do. Our goal is to continue this success into the spring semester and beyond in our lives."

Dennis and his players are excited to represent Chattanooga State and this community. Chattanooga State Baseball opens Feb. 3 with an away game at Georgia Highlands College. Their first at home season opener will be Wednesday, Feb. 8, against West Georgia Technical College beginning at 1 p.m.
