Cleveland Announces Community Meetings And A Community Survey

  • Wednesday, January 25, 2017

Cleveland residents have an opportunity to express opinions about the future of their city.

The city's first Citizen Community Survey is being circulated now. It is available on line at the city website, clevelandtn.gov/communitysurvey. Paper copies and drop boxes are available at the Municipal Building at 190 Church Street N.E.; Cleveland/Bradley Chamber of Commerce at 225 Keith Street S.W.; Impact Cleveland at 1075 Blythe Avenue S.E.

and the Cleveland/Bradley County Public Library at 795 Church Street N.E.

14 key categories are covered in the survey to help city leaders better understand the priorities of the community. The goal of the survey is to assess the attitudes and opinions about the quality of life in Cleveland.

A series of public information meetings is being conducted now, one in each municipal district. Information about the survey and upcoming projects will be available at these meetings. Representatives of the city will be available at each session.

The first session was held Tuesday for District 1 at George R. Stuart Elementary School.

The remaining meetings schedule includes:

District 2 - Cleveland/Bradley County Public Library (795 Church Street), Jan. 26, 6:30 p.m.

District 3 - Legacy Senior Living Center (2235 Candies Lane N.W.), Feb. 2, 6:30 p.m.

District 4 - Mayfield Elementary School (501 20th Street N.E.), Feb. 7, 6:30 p.m.

District 5 - CLeveland High School – School Library (850 Raider Dr.), Feb. 9, 6:30 p.m.

The series of meetings will end with a general public forum at the Museum Center at Five Points on Feb. 15 at 3 p.m.

Surveys should be completed and returned by Feb. 24.

Questions regarding the survey can be directed to Beverley Lindsey in the City Manager’s Office at 423-472-4551 or by email at blindsey@clevelandtn.gov.

City leaders say the survey feedback will help in prioritizing funding and developing a more effective plan for Cleveland’s future.
