Wanted Fugitive From Catoosa County, Wesley Weldon, Arrested In Walker County

According to Sheriff Gary Sisk, Wesley Gage Weldon, 41, a wanted fugitive from Catoosa County, was captured on Thursday, at approximately 8:20 p.m. at a residence on Indian Avenue, Rossville, Walker County, Ga.

Prior to the arrest, deputies of the Catoosa County Sheriff s Office received information that led them to the residence on Indian Avenue where Weldon was spotted arriving in a vehicle, exiting the vehicle and getting into a second vehicle. As law-enforcement approached Weldon, he attempted to start the vehicle to flee. At that time, officers were forced to break out the window on the vehicle, as Weldon continued to resist the arrest. Subsequently, Weldon was tazed and taken into custody.

Weldon is incarcerated in the Catoosa County jail, charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, kidnapping with bodily injury and false imprisonment. Bond has not been set.

The arrest was a result of a combined effort from multiple law-enforcement agencies. The Catoosa County Sheriff s Office would like to thank the following agencies for their assistance with this arrest: U.S. Marshal's Service (Smoky Mountain Fugitive Task Force), the Chattanooga Police Department, Hamilton County Sheriff s Office, East Ridge Police Department, Rossville Police Department, Walker County Sheriff s Office, aAs well as several additional federal agencies.
