Mary Ruth Rockholt Thompson, 90, of Decatur, Tn., went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 1, 2017, at Grace Health Care of Decatur.
She was one of the the sweetest, most caring people a person could ever meet. She lived her life to take care of her family, especially her husband of 69 years, Herman , who passed away on July 4, 2017. She was a daughter of the late Spiller and Betty Wright Rockholt. She was an active member of Bethsadia Baptist Church.
In addition to her late husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Charles “Bud” Rockholt, Amanda “Mandy” Brown, Gladys Kile, and Bessie Petitt.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Velma Campbell and her husband Charles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews and great-great-nieces and nephews and great-great-great nieces.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 4, in the chapel of Bowers Funeral Home with the Reverend Larry Sorrah and the Reverend Don Rockholt officiating. Interment will follow in the Bethsadia Baptist Cemetery. Wayne Brown, J.C. Crabtree, Chris McKenzie, Tim Jennings, Don Rockholt, and David Roberts will serve as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, from 12-2 p.m., at Bowers Funeral Home prior to the services.
