A 23-year-old man is in critical condition after a wreck on Shallowford Road early Saturday morning.
Yoceph Stephens was in a Jeep Liberty driven by31-year-old Elijah Stephens.
The Jeep and a Mazda MA5 driven by Anna Dolan, 19, were traveling east in the 7800 block of Shallowford Road when the Jeep struck the rear of the Mazda.
The Jeep continued eastbound, traveling across all lanes of travel into the oncoming traffic side of the road before leaving the roadway and striking a stone sign. The Jeep rolled over onto the passenger side.
The passenger in the Jeep was partially ejected with vehicle coming to rest of top of him. Bystanders lifted the vehicle off the victim.
He was transported to a local hospital by Hamilton County EMS with life-threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The Chattanooga Fire Department also responded to the scene.
Officers with the Traffic Division are actively investigating the crash.
Also in the Mazda were Sheridan Mosley, 18, and a juvenile.
