We Need More People Like Bob Corker In Congress - And Response

  • Saturday, December 2, 2017
However one chooses to refer to him, the Lone Ranger or Custer's Last Stand, I applaud Senator Corker for his dedication to his oath and responsibilities pursuant to that oath to the people, the country, our standing in the world, and the financial future and security of this country and all of the people who rely upon it for the honest management of their resources.

We need more like you, Senator Corker, to put the Senate and House back on track and away from the uncomfortable association, if not fear, of the White House here at the end of the year in a death spiral in search of its first win.  Your solitary vote last night out of that august body ruling the Senate under the heavy hand of McConnell and Hatch leading the pack kept the glow in the future for me and the many others who have passed up football to watch the high stakes on display in the Senate the last two weeks and the slithering down the hall or slipping over to the White House to get their marching orders and headcount.  You did the right thing and made it clear where your loyalty lies.  That is to your oath and the people you represent.

As we sports fans have been reminded many times, "It ain't over 'til its over."  The House has a hatchet job to do.  The Senate Democrats and some Republicans are ready to help.  Their oath is their guide.  The people who vote control their future.  Take off the blinders for a clear vision of what you do during the next few weeks.  The people will be watching you.  The needy exist and they are not at the top of the financial brackets in this country.

Gee Charlotte, where do you suppose Senator Corker has been for the past eight years when the debt exploded to double what it was when the Obama crew took over?  I never heard a peep from him.

I would have more respect for him had he spoken up when welfare reform went into play and never got straightened out.  I would have had more respect for him had he spoken out about the huge payouts in the SNAP program that have never been straightened out (millions are spent on that pathetic program right here between the two counties).  He finally speaks out when he's given notice...perfect timing with the top spot in Tennessee coming open.
