Duke, Nellie Ruth (Trenton)

Nellie Ruth Duke, 83, of Trenton, died Friday afternoon, December 1, 2017. Mrs. Duke was retired from Candlewick Yarns of Ringgold, and was a member of the Scenic Land Holiness Church and the Dade County Senior Citizens. 

She was preceded in death by her husband Melvan L. Duke; parents Doc and Rosa Lee Delaney Guffey; two brothers, Boyd and J.W. Guffey; and two sisters, Joan and Bonnie Guffey. 

Surviving include her daughter Diana (John) Yantis of Soddy Daisy; son Terry Michael (Regina) Duke of Trenton; son Randy (Teresa Simmons) Duke of Hixson; son Jeff (Dee) Duke of Lookout Mountain; sister Evelyn Langston of Grant, Al.; sister Imogene Gamble of Swearengin, Al.; brothers Danny and Rodney Guffey both of Swearengin, Al.; also several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. on Monday, Dec. 4 in the chapel with Rev. Charles Willmon officiating. Interment will be in the New Prospect Cemetery on Grant Mountain, A. Family will receive friends from 1-8 p.m. on Sunday and 10-11 a.m. on Monday at the Ryan Funeral Home in Trenton.
