ATLANTA, Ga. -- Both Covenant track and field teams competed in the Emory Invitational
on Friday and
Saturday in Atlanta. The Covenant men scored in the event and finished 33rd, while the women were 35th in the large event.
On the women's side, Caroline Pepper finished in sixth in her section of the 5000 meter event with a time of 21:06.72.
In the distance medley relay, the team of Michelann Settle, Anna Porch, Margaret Fitch and McKinzie Hummel placed ninth with a 14:13.50.
In the 100 meter dash, Hannah Hennigh had a season best time of 13.44 and Hanna Wilt also had her best season time of 14.49. Anna Porch also posted a season-best in the 400 meter as she finished in a time of 1:05.90.
Micah Sneller finished the 5000 meter in a time of 16:27.70 to place fifth in his section. Sneller also ran his first 10k
on Friday and finished in 34:48.76. In the men's sprint events, Ari Zorns led the Scots in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.68. Berto Dryden clocked in at 12.18, while Stefon Bright finished in 12.44.
Ryan Seay, Kyle Delk, Chapman Whitted and Mason Gregoire placed 16th in the 4x100 with a time of 45.54. Seay teamed with Phil Carrenard, Reed Vaughn and Matthew Tueller to place ninth in the distance medley relay with their time of 11:34.08. Gregoire also placed 22nd in the long jump with his mark of 6.20 meters.
Covenant teams will head to the Falcon Classic, hosted Division II member Montevallo, on
March 24-25.
