The Southern League has announced that Lookouts pitcher Ryan Eades has been named the Southern League Pitcher of the Week (6/26-7/2).

This week Eades made two appearances against the Mississippi Braves and did not surrender a hit.

On June 29 the righty entered the game in the seventh inning and struck out four Braves in his two innings of work to help preserve the 4-1 win.

Three days later Eades came back out and started game two of Sunday’s doubleheader.  The former LSU product fired three hitless innings to begin the game before being pulled. Eades also racked up five strikeouts to bring his weekly total to nine.

Since the beginning of May Eades has been outstanding for the Lookouts.

In 30 innings he has only allowed six runs (1.80 ERA) while striking out 27 batters.  Eades has also improved as a starter. After Sunday’s start he is now 1-1 with a 2.28 ERA in five starts this season.

Monday night, the First Half Champion Lookouts aim to finish their six-game sweep of the Mississippi Braves. Game time in Mississippi is scheduled for 8:00 p.m. ET

Chattanooga returns home Tuesday for a special July 4th Independence Day Celebration with Postgame Fireworks!  Game time for the contest is set for 6:15 p.m. Fans can purchase tickets by calling 423-267-4849.
